Straffe Ketten means “Tough guys” in Brussels dialect. Straffe Ketten was created in 2010 as the gay rugby team of Brussels. They exist to give everybody in Belgium the opportunity to discover rugby in a fun, safe, social and inclusive environment.
The team has around 45 players: gay, bisexual and straight, from more than 15 nationalities, different ages and backgrounds.
They play an important role in giving visibility to the LGBT community in the sports world and fight to break stereotypes and combat homophobia. The club is represented in many events such as the Belgian Pride, the Bear Pride of Brussels, and the Antwerp Pride.
They are playing at the Nelson Mandela Stadion in Brussels.
